PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably reduce the system cost of a system for performing data transfer by direct memory access. SOLUTION: The data transfer apparatus is provided with a memory, a request generation device 206 for generating a request signal and a DMAC 202. The request generation device 206 comprises a data presence decision part for deciding presence of transfer data, a signal output part for outputting the request signal when the data presence decision part decides the presence of transfer data, and a decision timing control part for making the data presence decision part decide the presence of the transfer data again after waiting for a previously set time which is necessary for completing data transfer of at least one time transfer amount when the signal output part outputs the request signal. When the signal output part outputs the request signal, the DMAC 202 controls the data transfer of one time transfer amount by the direct memory access in accordance with the request signal.
