PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker having the function of keeping rice warm by which user can constantly eat reheated hot rice when he or she performs reheating operations and then opens its cover. SOLUTION: A pot 11 housed in a rice cooker body 10 is heated by heating coils 12. The temperature of the pot 11 is detected by a bottom temperature sensor 13 and the temperature of a heat radiation board 17 provided for the cover 14 is detected by a cover temperature sensor 19. The heating coils 12 are controlled by control boards 21. The control boards 21 have the heat retaining function for maintaining the temperature of the pot 11 at a predetermined heat-retaining temperature and the reheating function for increasing the temperature of the pot 11 to a temperature higher than the predetermined heat-retaining temperature. After reheating operations, the process moves to a high-temperature-retaining process in which the rice is maintained at a temperature higher than the predetermined heat-retaining temperature. After the cover temperature sensor 19 detects that the temperature of the heat radiation board 17 falls to a predetermined temperature T1 or lower and further the temperature rises to a predetermined high temperature T2 or higher which is higher than the predetermined temperature T1, the process moves to the heat-retaining state before reheating.
