An exhaust device of a diesel engine is provided to burn combustible gas in the exhaust channel completely whereby the catalyst chamber is installed along the outside surface of the exhaust channel peripheral wall. An exhaust device of a diesel engine comprises a gas generator(3) provided with liquid fuel(6) from a liquid fuel supply source(5) and a catalyst chamber(51) equipped in the gas generator. The catalyst chamber, containing catalyst(4) to generate catalyst-combustion heat inside, is installed along the outside surface of an exhaust channel peripheral wall(1a). An exhaust channel(1) is divided into a combustible gas mixing channel and an exhaust passage by a partition provided in the exhaust channel peripheral wall. One end of the combustible gas mixing channel is connected to a combustible gas outlet(9) so that combustible gas(7) heated in the catalyst chamber and a part of exhaust gas(10) are mixed in the combustible gas mixing channel and the mixed gas is ignited with an igniter(45) arranged in the combustible gas mixing channel.
