<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device capable of preventing an increase of the stroke of a brake lever and securing braking force, even when a booster actuator for assisting the stroke of the brake lever fails. <P>SOLUTION: This braking device has a booster cylinder 4 connected between a master cylinder 3 and a wheel cylinder, and a booster piston 42 partitioning the inside of the booster cylinder 4 into a pressurizing chamber (first booster chamber Rb1) and a back pressure chamber (second booster chamber Rb2) and being slid by an electric actuator (motor M). The master cylinder 3 has two pressure chambers (first pressurizing chamber Rm1 and second pressurizing chamber Rm2). One system (oil paths 10 and 11) of oil paths connected to the two pressure chambers is connected to the wheel cylinder and the pressurizing chamber of the booster cylinder 4.
