PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly notify an alarm cause using an existing inspection request. SOLUTION: An alarm unit 1 includes an abnormality occurrence detection means 10 for detecting abnormality in a supervision area, and an alarm means 30 for alerting the occurrence of abnormality detected by the above abnormality occurrence detection means 10. The alarm unit 1 further includes an alarm cause information storage means 24a for storing alarm cause information indicative of the alarm cause alerted by the alarm means 30, an inspection request detection means 21a for detecting an external inspection request, an alarm cause information notification means 21b for notifying of the alarm cause information stored in the alarm cause information storage means 24a according to the detection of the inspection request by the inspection request detection means 21a, and an inspection means 21c for inspecting at least one of the abnormality occurrence detection means 10 and the alarm means 30 after the alarm cause information notification means 21b notifies of the alarm cause information.
