PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly body of a relatively small fiber optic plug and an optical fiber receptacle. SOLUTION: The assembly body has an optical fiber plug and an optical fiber receptacle, the optical fiber plug includes a plug main body having a shroud in the vicinity of a first terminal part and an optical fiber connector having a connector housing and a plug ferrule. The optical fiber receptacle is adapted to the optical fiber plug and has a receptacle housing and an adapter sleeve, the adapter sleeve forms a passageways to house a portion of the plug ferrule, the shroud and the adapter sleeve have a size to arrange a portion of the adapter sleeve in an opening formed by the shroud, the plug main body has a shaft in the vicinity of the shroud and a collar which is engaged with the optical fiber receptacle, and the collar is turnable around an axis in the longitudinal direction with respect to the shaft but the movement in the longitudinal direction is limited.
