PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel assembly allowing control of an excess reactivity according to wide fluctuation of the operation cycle length with assuring the excess reactivity in the early stage of a cycle. SOLUTION: In the core of a nuclear reactor loaded with a nuclear reactor fuel assembly constituted by bundling a fuel rod loaded with a fissile material and a burnable poison containing fuel rod loaded with a fissile material to which a burnable poison is added, a fuel assembly group 1, a fuel assembly group 2, ..., and a fuel assembly group n (n≥3) individually containing different numbers of the burnable poison containing fuel rods according to types of the fuel assembly groups are provided.
