PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: in an image processor capable of switching an automatic face selection mode during which a main face is automatically selected from among a plurality of faces detected from an image and a face designation mode during which the face is selected in accordance with a designation of a user, indexes are displayed in the plurality of faces detected in the automatic face selection mode and an index is displayed only in a face selected by the user in the face designation mode, however when only one face can be detected although the plurality of faces exist in a photographing viewing angle, it is difficult for the user to recognize which one of the automatic face selection mode and the face designation mode is being set. SOLUTION: The image processor is disclosed in which a display mode of an index for indicating a main face is made different between the automatic face selection mode and the face designation mode.
