PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for optical waveguide having excellent hardness, low propagation loss in the layer of the hardened resin, excellent solder reflow heat resistance and forming an optical waveguide composed of a clad layer and a core layer which have an excellent adhesion by a simple method. SOLUTION: The resin composition for optical waveguide is characterized by containing two components of 10 to 80 wt.% (A) and 10 to 70 wt.% (B), where (A) is a fumarate type copolymer having a fumarate type building block and an epoxi-group building block, and (B) is latent polyhydric carboxylic acid obtained by reacting a polyhydric carboxylic acid compound and a vinyl ether.
