PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently use cylinder bores in which cylinders are not attached in a reciprocating compressor selectively attaching the cylinders to some of a plurality of the cylinder bores formed at a single crankcase. SOLUTION: In the reciprocating compressor 1 selectively attaching the cylinders to some of the plurality of cylinder bores 49 formed at the single crankcase 7, the cylinder bores in which the cylinders are not attached out of the plurality of cylinder holes 49 are used as suction ports sucking air into the crankcase 7.
