<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for determining the thickness of a remaining refractory lining, which are readily practicable and can determine, with a higher reliability than that in a conventional technology, the thickness of the remaining refractory lining inside a torpedo car. <P>SOLUTION: The method for determining the thickness of the remaining refractory lining inside the torpedo car comprises a step of determining the thickness of the remaining refractory lining based on temperatures (T1(°C), T2(°C)) of an outer wall of the torpedo car measured before and after discharge (t1 (min) before discharge, t2 (min) after discharge) of molten iron from the torpedo car. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
