METHOD FOR MEASURING HEAVY METAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quickly and easily detecting and quantitatively measuring heavy metals.

SOLUTION: The method for measuring heavy metals in a specimen comprises (1) a step to perform an enzymatic reaction by reacting a phytochelatin synthetase to a mixture of glutathione and a specimen having a possibility of containing heavy metals, (2) a step to add a fluorescent labeling reagent to the enzymatic reaction liquid to label the phytochelatin produced by the enzymatic reaction, and (3) a step to measure or observe the fluorescence intensity of the labeled phytochelatin.
