PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optional magnification enlarging and reducing method of digital images for reducing an operation amount and performing high-speed processing. SOLUTION: The optional magnification enlarging and reducing method includes a shift integer coordinate operation step of calculating the integer coordinate value and real number coordinate value of an original pixel corresponding to the coordinate value of the pixel under consideration of a conversion image and executing calculation by a shift operation for the respective coordinate values; a weighting coefficient calculation step of calculating a weighting coefficient made into an integer from the coordinate values calculated by the shift integer coordinate operation step; and a step of calculating a weighting average pixel value for calculating the pixel value of the pixel under consideration from the pixel value of the integer coordinate value near the real number coordinate value and the weighting coefficient made into the integer.
