PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet absorber and a resin composition, causing no bleed out, blocking≤380 nm ultraviolet rays, and transmitting≥400 nm visible light. SOLUTION: The ultraviolet absorber and the resin composition comprise a carbazole compound represented by formula (1) [wherein, n is 1 or 2; when n is 1, A is H, a substituent, a (branched) 1-12C alkyl group, aryl group, cycloalkyl group or their combination, and, when n is 2, A is a 1-12C alkylene group, arylene group, cycloalkylene group or their combination; and B is a compound of a structure of formula (2)].
