<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a fuel cell in which a solid electrolyte is prevented from penetrating a porous substrate when a hydrogen ion conveying solid membrane is formed and at the same time a power density of a battery is maintained and moreover is increased. <P>SOLUTION: Before the liquid electrolyte is deposited, at least a part of a wall 2b showing an outline of a pore 2a of the substrate 2 is covered by a film 10 composed of a material having a contact angle ≥90° against a liquid drop of the liquid electrolyte, so that a liquid electrolyte can be prevented from penetrating a porous substrate 2 and at the same time a power density of a fuel cell can be maintained or increased.
