<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulation system which positively exerts an improvement amount of two ranks or more in terms of an L<SB>H</SB>value even if a large and severe shock such as a heavy floor shock is imposed thereon. <P>SOLUTION: The sound insulation system is composed of a sound insulation floating floor structure and a sound insulation ceiling structure. The sound insulation floating floor structure is provided with a floor slab 21, a plurality of sound insulation floor members 23 on the floor slab 21, a floor substrate member (such as a particle board 12) on the sound insulation floor members 23, and a floor finish member (such as a color floor 24) on the floor substrate member. The sound insulation ceiling structure forms a ceiling space from a lower surface of the floor slab 21 of the sound insulation floating floor structure to a lower surface of a lower-story ceiling, and is provided with a building structural member (such as a second-story floor skeleton 14), a ceiling member (such as a plaster board 25), and a ceiling holding member (such as a ceiling panel 5) for fixing the ceiling member. The ceiling member secures a gap with respect to a building structure, and has a total surface density of 10 to 40 kg/m<SP>2</SP>.
