The component (1) has a circuit carrier (2) provided with a centrically arranged recess, and switching units (3, 3.1-3.5) that are arranged on an outer surface of the circuit carrier, where the circuit carrier is made from plastic e.g. semi-crystalline, partially aromatic polyamide. Electrically conducting conductors (4) are arranged on the outer surface and connected with one another on the switching units. The conductors are connected with a contact device that is provided for connecting the component with another component arranged in an on-board power supply system of a vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electronic component.
