<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hollow fiber carbon membrane having flexibility high enough to resist fracture and excellent separation performance. <P>SOLUTION: The hollow fiber carbon membrane is one comprising a polyphenylene oxide derivative, comprises a carbide obtained by dissolving the polyphenylene oxide derivative in an organic solvent and extruding the solution through a nozzle into a coagulation bath to form a hollow fiber and firing it, and has an outside diameter in the range of 0.08-0.25 mm is produced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
