An antenna element which is compact, has a high gain, can be extended in wavelength range, and can be accommodated with several frequency bands. The antenna element includes a first antenna element (5) and a second antenna element (6). The first antenna element (5) has a box-like shape (rectangular parallelepiped shape) consisting of a first conductor board (51), a second conductor board (52), and a third conductor board (53) which are so disposed as to form at least three faces of a nearly rectangular parallelepiped, with the first conductor board (51) fed from a nearly corner of a lower circuit board (bottom board) (21). The second antenna element (6) also has a box-like shape (rectangular parallelepiped shape) consisting of a fourth conductor board (61), a fifth conductor board (62), and a sixth conductor board (63) which are so disposed as to form at least three faces of a nearly rectangular parallelepiped and is connected to the first antenna element (5) via a resonant circuit (7) from a part away from a feed point of the first antenna element (5).
