GENERATION AND DETECTION OF SYNCHRONIZATION SIGNALS

An improved generation and detection of a synchronization signal for use in a telecommunication system is disclosed by the present invention. According to the present invention the synchronization signal is generated by performing a circular time shift on a centrally symmetric signal, the circular time shift being performed such that the synchronization signal is centrally asymmetric. The detection of the synchronization signal is then performed by utilizing the symmetries of the synchronization signal in order to reduce computation complexity of the detection.
