A portable terminal including a virtual keypad which accurately confirms an alphabetic character in which a user inputs and a character input method thereof are provided to reduce a time for inputting a portable terminal including a virtual keypad and their character input method plan the offset of the user. A display unit(230) displays a virtual keypad consisting of the combination of a plurality of virtual keys. A virtual keypad executive program activates the virtual keypad in the display unit. A touch recognition part(280) is located in the upper side of the display unit. A contact of the virtual keypad displayed on the display unit is recognized the touch recognition part. In case the contact about one is recognized by the keys of the virtual keypad displayed in the display unit through the touch recognition part, the virtual keypad executive program displays. |
