An air conditioner is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost and the weight of the air conditioner while improving the appearance of a front part, wherein the operation of a cleaning unit is easily checked outside the air conditioner via a front panel. A front panel includes a transparent front cover(210), a color part(220) formed at a rear surface of the front cover, and a plurality of connection elements(230,240) disposed with a distance from each other. A cleaning unit moves along with a filter for cleaning the filter and is mounted with a lighting element, wherein a light transmitting part is formed at a front side of a movement path of the lighting element.
