The method involves placing the trays (3) on an autoclave (1) into which microwaves are coupled from hollow conductors (7,8) and moving the trays through the autoclave. The hollow conductors are fed from the side of the autoclave beneath the transport device (2A) carrying the trays and the trays alone are irradiated with microwaves from below. A transport device that is transparent to microwaves is used. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a device for heating ready meals sealed in trays with microwaves. |
