PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device, suppressing scattering of toner caused by gas ejected from the end in the longitudinal direction of a developer carrier, and to provide a process cartridge, an image forming apparatus and toner. SOLUTION: The developing device includes: a developing container 50 storing a developer and having a first opening 50a at a part opposite to an image carrier 1; the developer carrier 51 for carrying the developer to the opposite part to the image support by rotation; a second opening 50b provided on the developing container outside of the first opening and leading to the outside of the developing container; and an air current passage 50c formed so that gas flows in the developing container from a gap between the developer carrier and the developing container through the opposite part and the inflow gas is discharged from the second opening to the outside of the developing container. In the air current passage, the surface of the developing container facing the developer carrier is provided with a plurality of ribs 501 arranged in the longitudinal direction of the developer carrier extending from the upstream side of the air current passage to the downstream side of the air current passage and projecting from the opposite surface to the developer carrier side.
