PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly durable electrophotographic apparatus which does not cause troubles such as image fogging, image density degradation, image memory, and image deletion. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic apparatus has an electrophotographic photoreceptor in which potential attenuation measured under conditions [1] and [2] is 2 to 8V. The electrophotographic apparatus includes: a process where, while the photoreceptor makes at least one rotation after image formation, a destaticization means is not operated but a charging means is operated; and a process where, while the photoreceptor makes at least one rotation thereafter, the charging means is not operated but the destaticization means is operated. The condition [1] is as follows: when the surface potential of the photoreceptor is -600(V), the photoreceptor is exposed under specific conditions, and the quantity of laser beam when the surface potential of the photoreceptor after 180 ms from the exposure reaches -400(V) is represented by (A). The condition [2] is as follows: when the surface potential of the photoreceptor is -600(V), the photoreceptor is exposed for 2.5μs with the quantity of laser beam (A), and potential attenuation from 95 ms to 183 ms is measured.
