PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery having excellent battery performance while securing high safety. SOLUTION: This secondary battery is provided with a roll 20 including a stacked structure including a positive electrode 21, a negative electrode 22 and a separator 23 located between the positive electrode 21 and the negative electrode 22. The separator 23 has a base material 26, and a polymer compound layer 27 arranged on a surface thereof. That is to say, the base material 26 contacts the positive electrode 21 and the negative electrode 22 through the polymer compound layer 27. In this case, the polymer compound layer 27 contains a lubricant held to the polymer compound along with an electrolyte. Thereby, even when the negative electrode 22 is expanded in charging/discharging, frictional force generated between the separator 23, and the positive electrode 21 and the negative electrode 22 is reduced, and stress received by the positive electrode 21, the negative electrode 22 and the separator 23 is relaxed.
