PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus capable of easily separating a cap and a recording head by small force even when the cap and the recording head are stuck together. SOLUTION: This inkjet recording apparatus includes a cap holder 122 for holding and rotatably supporting a cap 121 for covering a delivery port of sa recording head 107, and an operation mechanism (a moving mechanism) 180 for operating the cap holder in the direction for the cap to abut on or separate from the recording head. An abutting surface of the cap abutting on a delivery port surface has a first abutting part 161 for sealing a delivery port row, and a second abutting part 162 connected to and arranged on the outside of the first abutting part and pressed to the delivery port surface.
