PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety mechanism for a robot controller, which is for use in setting up the robot controller with an additional driving shaft, can additionally place a top board of an added section without changing a top board, and prevents electric shock. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the safety mechanism, a second member serving as the upper cover for the added section is laid on the casing of the robot controller with the additional driving shaft, and a first member serving as the upper cover for a robot control section is fastened to the casing by a screw together with the second member held under the same. Thus the safety mechanism which inhibits the second member serving as the added section upper cover from being removed while a power source is input, is implemented, which dispenses with preparation of a new upper cover for the robot controller with the additional driving shaft, of a different size, to thereby contribute to reduction of manufacturing costs by virtue of sharing of component parts. Further by providing a stopper for the second member serving as the added section upper cover, upper cover removal caused by sliding of the upper cover due to detachment of the screw while the power source is kept input, can be prevented.
