PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder surely sucking a recording medium. SOLUTION: The recorder includes a suction section 215 having a plurality of suction ports which are suction ports 215a, 215b and 215c sucking a recorded recording medium and provided in the conveying direction of the recording medium. When the recording medium does not arrive, the suction ports are closed and when the recording medium arrives, the suction ports are successively opened according to conveyance of the leading edge of the recording medium. Thus, when the recorded recording medium arrives, only the suction port of a part where the leading edge of the recorded recording medium is located is opened, so that suction ability of a fan can be concentrated on the opened suction port.
