PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly heat resistant sound-absorbing material having excellent heat resistance and durability, and having the high degree of freedom in shape, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a highly heat resistant sound-absorbing material 1 comprising: a body part 2 composed of soft polyurethane foam; and a heat resistant layer 3 arranged at least at a part of the body part 2 and composed of a heat resistant material synthesized from metal alkoxides and polydimethylsiloxane having a functional group reacting with the metal alkoxides, and the body 2 has an impregnated layer 20 obtained by impregnating the heat resistant material into the soft polyurethane foam in the vicinity of the interface with the heat resistant layer 3.
