摘要 A device for shaping optical waveforms inputs a WDM optical signal amplified by a first optical amplifier into a first nonlinear medium, and then magnifies the spectrum of the optical signal at each wavelength by means of an SPM at the first nonlinear medium to separate a signal component and a noise component, extracting only the short-wavelength side signal components for each spectrum in a lump through an optical filter. Subsequently, the device inputs the optical signal output from the optical filter after amplified by a second optical amplifier into a second nonlinear medium, and shifts wavelengths of respective signal lights to the long-wavelength side in block by the self frequency shifting at the second nonlinear medium to recover back to the signal light wavelengths at the time of signal input. Such a method makes it possible to collectively shape waveforms of the signal light at respective wavelengths contained in the WDM signal light and to accurately keep the wavelength of each signal light before or after the waveform shaping.
