The invention relates to engine-building. The inventive rotary-vane internal combustion engine comprises a crankcase (1) two lids, a rotor (12) and a cylinder (2). Intake (7) and exhaust (8) ports are made in the lids. The cylinder is rotationally located in the crankcase coaxially thereto. A polyhedral through hole, the number of faces of which corresponds to the number of combustion chambers, is made in the cylinder. Cylindrical grooves for two sleeves (9), the inner part of which is designed in the form of a polyhedron, the number of faces of which corresponds to the number of combustion chambers, is made in the lids. The lids are provided with holes for the rotor (10) axis. Longitudinal grooves for vanes (13) are made on the rotor. The vanes consist of an internal section (14) and external sections (17, 18) provided with projections (21, 22). Counterweights with levers, one end of which is rigidly fastened to the internal section and the other end to the external sections are arranged in the internal section. Said invention provides a constant pressing force between the vanes and the cylinder.
