PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grid for a lead-acid storage battery wherein PCL is not caused even if deep discharge cycles are repeated, and decrease of the storage battery liquid can be prevented. SOLUTION: In this grid for the lead-acid storage battery, a Pb-Sb alloy layer is formed on the surface of a Pb-Ca based alloy grid, Sb concentration of the Pb-Sb alloy layer is more than 50 mass% and not more than 99 mass%, and its thickness is 0.3-5.0μm. Since the Pb-Sb alloy layer having proper composition is formed on the surface of the Pb-Ca based alloy grid so as to have a proper thickness in this grid for the lead-acid storage battery, both PCL (Premature Capacity Loss) and decrease of the storage battery liquid are prevented. Since this Pb-Sb alloy layer is thin, it can be formed in a short time and is excellent in productivity. The thickness and Sb concentration of the Pb-Sb alloy layer can be properly formed by an electroplating method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
