PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved disk drive device capable of ejecting a disk outside by a simple operation when occurring abnormality. SOLUTION: The disk drive device is provided with a casing 3 having a slot 19 for inserting/ejecting an optical disk, a drive lever 52 associated with a holding member for holding the optical disk to house the optical disk when driven in a first direction and to eject the optical disk when driven in a second direction opposite the first direction, a drive motor 102 for driving the drive lever 52, a gear string 104 for transmitting the driving force of the drive motor 102 to the drive lever 52, and a manual ejecting mechanism which receives a manual operation force in emergency to release engagement between the drive motor 102 and the drive lever 52 by the gear string, and to drive the drive lever 52 in a second direction by a manual operation force to eject the optical disk.
