PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fracture in an electrophoretic display device due to impulsive force. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display device has an electrophoretic layer 30 held between an element substrate 10 and a counter substrate 50 and uses the side of counter substrate 50 as a display screen, wherein the electrophoretic display device includes a transparent impact relaxing layer 70, a transparent support layer 80 and a transparent surface layer 90, in this order on the upper side of the counter substrate 50.
