PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming device capable of reducing a circuit scale in performing interpolation processing, and a control method thereof. SOLUTION: An image judgment processing part detects a feature for each pixel in the cyan image data of image data 1001 to which registration deviation correction in the unit of a pixel is applied using profile properties. The feature judgment result information A-C is stored in judgment result storage parts 1005-1007, and a decoder 1008C judges whether the registration deviation correction of less than one pixel should be applied for each pixel, based on the feature judgment result information A-C. In magenta, yellow, and black, an image feature is detected simply for each pixel by a simple image judgment processing part and a simple screen image judgment processing part of each color. For magenta, yellow and black, judgment is made on whether or not the registration deviation correction of less than one pixel should be applied, based on the feature judgment result information thus detected and acquired simply.
