PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract a specimen sampled by a specimen sampling rod securely in a specimen extracting liquid. SOLUTION: The container for extraction includes a cylindrical container body 2 integrally having an opening end 20 for inserting and removing the specimen sampling rod 4 which samples the specimen, and a bottom 22 for housing the specimen extracting liquid for extracting the specimen from the specimen sampling rod 4 introduced from the opening end 20. The container body 2 includes a flat part 23 extended between the opening end 20 and the bottom 22 and having a pair of plane plate like parts 23a hollowing in parallel each other, and projecting parts 28 which are projected to an inner surface of the respective plane plate like parts 23 slidably with the specimen sampling rod inserted inside the container body 2 with both sides of the respective plane plate like parts 23a of the flat part 23 opened.
