<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of enhancing a power saving effect (an energy saving effect). <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: an error detection signal latch circuit 208 which holds an error detection signal; an error display means 211 which performs error display; and a power supply control means which performs the error display by using the error display means when an error detection function detects an error, discriminates a sort of the error, and shifts to regular operation when error releasing operation is performed by the time predetermined time elapses after detecting the error, while it stops power supply to the respective elements of the apparatus other than the error detection signal latch circuit and the error display means when the error releasing operation is not performed even when the predetermined time elapses after detecting the error if the discriminated sort of the error shows a minute error, and then stops the power supply to the respective elements of the apparatus other than the error detection signal latch circuit and the error display means at such a point of time if the discriminated sort of the error shows a serious error. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
