<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device preventing erroneous detection of toner concentration, caused by a change in the loosened apparent density of toner, and also to provide an image forming apparatus, toner storage device, and process cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: A control section 110 detects the loosened apparent density of toner and corrects the detection result of a toner concentration sensor, thereby making the detection result of the toner concentration sensor correspond to the loosened apparent density of the toner in the developing device. Thus, even if toner whose loosened apparent density higher or lower than a reference one is supplied into a developer storage part, the toner concentration sensor is prevented from detecting the toner concentration higher or lower than the actual concentration in the storage part.
