PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square gabion having tension wires for reinforcement easily stretchable at predetermined positions when the square gabion is assembled. SOLUTION: A tension wire 35 stretched between a bottom net plate 16 and side net plates 17 is so attached to each of the bottom net plate 16 and the side net plates 17 that a part of the tension wires 35 maintains a non-disengaged state while being engaged with the bottom net plate 16 and the side net plates 17 when a gabion body 11 is folded and also when assembled. When the gabion body 11 is folded, it is fallen together with the side net plates 17 while being engaged with the bottom net plate 16 and the side net plates 17 and brought into a non-stretched state. When the gabion body 11 is assembled, it is erected when the side net plates 17 are erected, and brought into a diagonally stretched state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
