PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water discharge device capable of starting water discharge at optimum timing according to the movement of an object to be detected such as timing immediately before a human hand reaches below a water discharge opening. SOLUTION: This water discharge device includes: a water discharge section; a sensor for acquiring information on the movement of an object to be detected based on a reflected wave of a radiated electric wave; and a control section for controlling water discharge from the water discharge section based on a detection signal from the sensor section wherein, upon detecting that the speed of the object is reduced to a level lower than or equal to a first predetermined speed, the control section starts the water discharge.
