PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measurement tape of a tape measure capable of performing measurement stably in an upright extended state in the air by reducing a bend toward the inside of a curve generated in the measurement tape in an upright extended state in the air. SOLUTION: On both the sides in a width direction in the measuring tape of a tape measure curved in a width direction in a normal state, a bent part bent opposite in a direction opposite to the bending direction of a body bent part in the measuring tape is formed. Both the side sections of the measuring tape are reinforced with substantially the same strength as that of the body bent section of the measurement tape over the total length in the longitudinal direction by the bent part; and dray with respect to the bending of both the sides of the measuring tape becomes large; and thus preventing a bend from being generated, when the measuring tape is extended large, upright in air and performing stable measurements.
