PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of opening a door with small power and improving its storage volume. SOLUTION: In this refrigerator comprising a door driving device for opening the door of the refrigerator, the door driving device has a rotary drive means disposed on a refrigerator main body, a rotating member rotated by the rotation of the rotary drive means and provided with a plurality of power transmitting portions on a position of which a distance from a center of the rotation is increased toward the direction opposite to the rotating direction, a control means for controlling the rotary drive means, and a connecting member disposed at a door side in a state that the power from the power transmitting portion is transmitted thereto for converting the rotating motion of the rotating member into the linear motion. The power transmitting portion has a plane portion, and is formed in a state that the planar direction of the plane portion is roughly the rotation center direction, the connecting member has a plurality of stairs-shaped step portions, and the power is transmitted in a state that the step portions and the plane portion are roughly face-contacted with each other to open the door.
