PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint metal for a reinforcing bar and a separator, which improves the operation of fastening to the reinforcing bar and which can be firmly fixed to the reinforcing bar. SOLUTION: This joint metal comprises a joint metal body 1 which is constituted by making first and second sandwiching portion pieces 3 and 4 for sandwiching the reinforcing bar (a) connected together via a hinge portion 5 and which is connected to the separator (b) in a proper location by a connecting means, and a bolt material 2, the one end of which is assembled to the first sandwiching portion piece 3 of the joint metal body 1. A notch 8 for fitting the other end side of the bolt material 2 is provided at the free end of the second sandwiching portion piece 4. A recessed inlet portion 11 for engaging a fastening nut 9 screwed to the bolt material 2 is provided in the surface of the second sandwiching portion piece 4 which constitutes an edge, on the back end side of the side of the hinge portion 5, of the notch 8.
