A non-contact type painting system for a painting robot is provided to reduce spray flaws and improve life of the painting system by grasping spray conditions of a painting machine and removing a cable or air hose directly entering the painting machine, thereby preventing distortion of the cable or air hose, and a method for controlling the non-contact type painting system for the painting robot is provided. A method for controlling a non-contact type painting system for a painting robot comprises: a step(S300) of transmitting ON/OFF signals of a painting machine; a step(S302) of converting the ON/OFF signals into low electric currents; a step(S304) of amplifying the low electric currents to generate induced electromotive forces; a step(S306) of transmitting signals by the induced electromotive forces; a step(S308) of turning on and off a solenoid valve based on the signals by the induced electromotive forces; a step(S310) of turning on and off a painting machine spray based on signals of the solenoid valve conditions; and a step(S312) of feedbacking a time required for turning on and off the painting machine spray.
