A door handle is pivotally mounted in a back plate 5, the handle pivot 6 having secured thereto a washer 7 which carries a projection 9 offset from the pivot centre and engaged by one end 12 of a substantially L-shaped levertype spring 11 adapted, upon the handle being rotated and then released, to return the handle to its initial position. The spring 11 is flat or round in cross-section and pivots about a projection 10 on the plate 5, the other end 13 of the spring abutting against a further projection 14 on the plate. Movement of the handle is limited by a projection 19 on the washer 7 abutting a projection 20 on the plate 5. The spring 11 is reversible so that the handle may be used on doors of either hand.</p> |
