Provided is a method for preparing a zeolite membrane having excellent selective separation performance by forming a uniform thin film-shaped zeolite layer in an inner part of a tubular supporter while using a commercially available zeolite powder as the seed crystal without separately preparing a zeolite powder to be used as a seed crystal. A method for preparing a zeolite membrane comprises the steps of: adhering a zeolite powder to a supporter; and aging and filtering a suspension containing a silica source and an alumina source to prepare a transparent filtrate, contacting the filtrate with the supporter, and heat-treating the filtrate contacxted with the supporter to form a crystalline zeolite membrane. The supporter is selected from an alumina/silicate mixed ceramic comprising 10 to 90% by weight of alumina, mullite, or porous stainless steel. The suspension contains: sodium silicate, colloidal silica or fumed silica as the silica source; sodium aluminate, aluminum isopropoxide or aluminum oxide as the alumina source; sodium hydroxide; and distilled water.
