<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recombinant herpes simplex virus (HSV) and an Escherichia coli in which deletion and insertion do not exist and which are each useful for multipurpose development and basic studies of vectors and vaccines. <P>SOLUTION: The prevent invention provides the recombinant HSV substantially keeping the whole length of genome of a wild type HSV and having same degree of proliferation ability as that of the wild type HSV. The invention also provides the Escherichia coli in which a circular virus DNA extracted from a cell infected with the recombinant HSV substantially keeping the whole length of the wild type HSV is introduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
