A display mode support method is provided to support a display mode for an input timing of various types of video signals. An input timing frequency of a video is detected(S400). A display timing frequency of an output video is calculated by using the detected input timing frequency(S401). An input vertical resolution value of the video is converted based on the calculation result. After that, an output timing frequency applied with the converted vertical resolution value is set. The timing frequency is a dot clock frequency of the video. If the output timing frequency is smaller than the input timing frequency, the input vertical resolution value is reduced.
