An image quality estimating system and a method thereof are provided to save man power and time by performing image quality estimation by performing mechanical automation. An evaluation image supply part(S20) supplies a video signal for image quality estimation to a display device(S10). A photographing apparatus(S40) takes a picture of an image displayed on the display device based on the evaluation video signal. An evaluation image acquisition part(S50) extracts a specific image quality estimation block from the entire image image-picked up through the photographing apparatus. A database(S70) stores standard definition data about the evaluation image supplied to the display device. An image quality estimation part(S90) calculates a value corresponding to each image quality estimation item after receiving the block obtained by the estimation image acquisition part, and compares the calculated image quality value with standard image quality data stored in the database.
